I liked this movie so much I actually purchased a copy on iTunes.
This sequel to Daddy’s Home (2015) is actually funnier than the first one.
What made this movie work even better was having Dusty (Mark Walhberg) and Brad (Will Ferrell) come together as a blended family rather than being opponents. And how else to increase the laughs by recruiting Mel Gibson (Kurt) as Dusty’s still cool former astronaut dad and John Lithgow as Don, Brad’s overbearing and lovable dad.
The two dads’ airport arrivals are by far one of the funniest scenes I’ve ever seen in a movie.
Chaos of course ensues when everyone decides to spend Christmas together in a rented Airbnb. The complications of blending families continues to grow as there’s new “daddy’s” on the horizon as Roger (John Cena) and Sully (Chelsey Sullenberger) show up.
So far there hasn’t been a Daddy’s Home 3, but I can only imagine how hilarious it would be with 6 daddy’s being at home.
