Blogmas Day 14: A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)

Whenever I think about A Charlie Brown Christmas, the piano music playing as the kids are dancing and practicing for the Christmas play is what comes to mind.

What’s great about A Charlie Brown Christmas is just like It’s A Wonderful Life, the story isn’t so light and fun when you think about it.

The commercialism of Christmas is at the heart of the story and witnessing all of it just makes Charlie Brown depressed. It’s not surprising that Charlie Brown decides on a sad little tree over a big beautiful Christmas tree as instructed by Lucy.

The tree is ultimately brought to life thanks to some care and love. And isn’t that a very merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!
