2023 Most Anticipated Movies

It’s hard to believe that 2023 is here. It’s always sad to have to pack up the Christmas decorations and go back to work after the holidays, but at least we have another new year of movies to look forward to. 2023 has even more highly anticipated films coming down the pipeline. Here’s the top 10 movies (that I’m aware of) that I’m most looking forward to.

#1 Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1

I still remember standing in the long line at the box office to buy tickets for the opening night of Mission: Impossible. I had my French notes with me as I had a French unit test the next day. Oh the days when you’re a kid and you’re so confident that you don’t let silly things like a major exam get in the way of what really means to you. I of course scored a 90%+ on the exam and I felt like I witnessed history when Ethan Hunt caught a bead of sweat with the gloved palm of his hand. More than 25 years later, I’m still damn excited to see another installment of Mission: Impossible and I don’t care if Tom Cruise is no longer in his 30’s!

#2 Insidious: Fear the Dark

Insidious returns to its greatness with the OG cast including Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne. I’m in!

#3 The Exorcist

I don’t know what this version of The Exorcist is all about, but let’s do this.

#4 Fast X

Damn near everyone in Hollywood except Dwayne Johnson is in this movie and I’m here for it. Being that this is the 10th and perhaps final installment of the franchise, I expect something incredible involving cars and family.

#5 Book Club: The Next Chapter

I loved how sweet and funny Book Club was. It was one of the first movies I had ever paid to rent to view on YouTube during the pandemic. A girls trip to Italy is the perfect set up for a sequel.

#6 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

The Christmas special reminded us how great the Guardians are. Ready to see what’s next in this third and final volume for these loveable outcasts of the galaxy.

#7 Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

I must admit I’ve never sat through one Ant-Man movie, yet. But for some reason I’m really excited to see the 2023 version of this franchise. Plus “Quantumania” just sounds cool.

#8 Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

If Harrison Ford is in it, then this has to be a good movie. If only they made room for Ke Huy Quan to return.

#9 Oppenheimer

A film by Christopher Nolan and starring everyone from Cillian Murphy, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Rami Malek, Florence Pugh, and even Josh Peck. And this movie is about the creation of the atomic bomb.

#10 Wonka

Timothee Chalamet as Willy Wonka is something I’m looking forward to seeing. I was dubious about him as the latest Laurie in Little Women, but he filled the shoes that Christian Bale had worn last.
